The first FDA-cleared power-controlled radiofrequency ablation system, enabling clinicians to localize and ablate epileptogenic tissue within a single SEEG-guided workflow.

DIXI medical, the worldwide leader in intracranial electrodes for epilepsy diagnosis and treatment, announces the launch of SEEG-Tx®, a radiofrequency ablation (RFA) system that enables targeted radiofrequency ablation using the same electrodes already implanted to identify the epileptogenic zone. By integrating precise lesioning into the existing SEEG workflow, the system offers a streamlined approach to patient management without requiring additional electrode implantation.
Bridging diagnostic insight and therapeutic intervention
SEEG plays a critical role in the evaluation of patients with drug-resistant epilepsy, allowing clinicians to precisely localize seizure-generating brain regions through intracranial recordings.
With SEEG-Tx®, this diagnostic insight can be translated directly into therapeutic action. Once the epileptogenic zone has been identified, clinicians can perform radiofrequency ablation through the implanted SEEG electrodes, without introducing additional electrodes or requiring a separate implantation procedure.
This integrated approach is intended to complement the existing care pathway, which may include future surgical resection, laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT), or neuromodulation.
Bringing greater control and consistency to radiofrequency ablation
SEEG-Tx® is a proprietary automated power-controlled system designed to deliver controlled, reproducible lesion formation through automated power management, helping clinicians achieve consistent ablation outcomes while reducing procedural complexity.
Unlike conventional approaches requiring manual energy adjustments, SEEG-Tx® continuously monitors tissue impedance and automatically adapts energy delivery according to predefined parameters to support the creation of optimized lesion volumes.
This technology is designed to simplify procedural management, reduce operator intervention, and support standardized RFA delivery. Clinicians can choose between two lesion volumes depending on procedural objectives and patient-specific considerations. This unique multi-polar approach is patented.
The system also allows clinicians to reconnect electrodes to the SEEG recording system following each ablation, enabling immediate assessment of electrophysiological changes and continued patient monitoring.
Designed Around Existing Clinical Practice
SEEG-Tx® has been developed to integrate into established DIXI medical SEEG workflows, whether procedures are performed in the operating room or epilepsy monitoring unit. By leveraging electrodes already in place, the system minimizes additional procedural steps and enables clinicians to incorporate RFA into their existing clinical practice.
Built on DIXI medical's longstanding expertise in SEEG and more than 20 years of experience in radiofrequency ablation procedures, SEEG-Tx® extends the value of intracranial monitoring beyond diagnosis and into therapeutic intervention.
"For decades, clinicians have relied on SEEG to understand the networks and regions from which seizures originate. With SEEG-Tx®, they can now translate that understanding into targeted intervention using the same implanted electrodes. This represents an important step toward more efficient and minimally invasive epilepsy care," says Nicolas Roche, CEO DIXI medical US.
