We are proud to share a major milestone for epilepsy care in Mexico: the first stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) procedure using DIXI medical electrodes has been successfully performed in the state of Jalisco.
The procedure was conducted at Hospital Country 2000 in Guadalajara, marking a historic first for the country and representing a significant step forward in the availability of advanced diagnostic techniques for patients with drug-resistant epilepsy.
This achievement was made possible thanks to the expertise and close collaboration of an outstanding multidisciplinary team. The procedure brought together neurophysiologist Dr. Alioth Guerrero-Aranda and neurosurgeons Dr. Fabrizio Mortola and Dr. Armando Díaz, whose combined experience and commitment were key to the success of this pioneering intervention.
It also reflects the strong partnership between DIXI medical and its trusted distributor Varlix. Introducing advanced medical technologies into a new market comes with considerable logistical and regulatory challenges, which were successfully overcome through perseverance, coordination, and shared dedication to improving patient care.
The introduction of SEEG technology in Mexico is an important development for epilepsy treatment, enabling more precise identification of seizure onset zones and supporting better-informed clinical decisions.
