UZ Gent has successfully completed its first stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) procedure using DIXI electrodes, marking an important milestone in the development of its epilepsy surgery program.
This first procedure was carried out by neurosurgeons Dr. Frank Dewaele and Dr. Tim De Pauw, in close collaboration with neurologists Dr. Ann Mertens and Dr. Alfred Meurs. The successful implementation of SEEG at UZ Gent reflects the expertise and commitment of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing patient care.
Over the past months, DIXI medical has worked closely with the UZ Gent team to support the development of their SEEG program. The successful completion of this first case represents the culmination of that joint effort and the beginning of a new chapter for epilepsy care at UZ Gent. As the center continues to expand its SEEG experience, DIXI medical remains committed to supporting its clinical teams in delivering the highest standards of care for patients with complex epilepsy.
We thank the entire UZ Gent team for their trust and collaboration and congratulate everyone involved in achieving this important milestone.
